The request was simple: no titles and no words on screen. The pictures speak for themselves. Our creative team made the film as a quiet slideshow to play during the service. Photos arrive in pairs, framed in white like prints laid on a table. Each one floats over a soft, blurred copy of itself, so the color of every moment fills the screen. Gentle fades carry one memory into the next. The film moves through four chapters of his life, from early black-and-white snapshots to recent family dinners. Short home videos mark the turns between chapters. They play with their own sound, and the music softens beneath the voices. The soundtrack is a set of warm classics from his generation: tender ballads, easy swing and gentle acoustic songs.
The photographs show a man who was always in motion. David snorkels in clear blue water and stands proudly at a fishing dock. He travels to ancient temples, old stone streets and sunny harbors. He wears a tuxedo at family weddings and a bright patterned shirt on vacation. He holds babies close and lets the little ones pile onto his lap. Later photos show his collection of walking canes and a small curly dog resting in his lap. A pair of comically round glasses makes an appearance too. The home videos bring his voice and laughter back into the room. In one, the family lights candles together in the kitchen. In others, he dances and laughs with the people he loved. Through every era, he is surrounded by family and friends who clearly adored him.
