What a memorial video costs, and what changes the price

By Tribute Montage TeamSeptember 25, 2026

Short answer: memorial video cost depends on a few practical things, not on guesswork. Length, how much material you send, whether you add a photo book, and how soon you need it are the main ones. There is no single flat number that fits every family, so the honest answer is a quote based on what you actually want. This post explains what raises a price, what does not, and what to tell us so the number you get is accurate.

Why there is no single price

Two families can ask for the same thing and mean something different. One wants four minutes and sixty photographs. The other wants ten minutes, three phone clips, a spoken tribute laid under the music, and a second version for the reception screen.

Both are memorial videos. They are not the same amount of work. That is why a studio that gives one flat number is either charging some families too much or cutting something out.

    What moves the price

    • Finished length. A longer video takes longer to build, and longer to review with you. Length is the single biggest driver.
    • How much material there is. Sixty photographs in one folder is straightforward. Four hundred unsorted files from five relatives is more work before editing even starts.
    • Video clips. Clips need trimming, leveling and fitting to the music. A handful is normal. A large pile adds time.
    • Extra pieces. A hardcover photo book, a shorter cut for social sharing, or a separate version for a memorial page are add-ons to the video.
    • Timing. Standard work is delivered within 24 to 48 hours of receiving everything, and rush is available when a service is closer than that.

What does not change the price

Some things families worry about turn out not to matter much.

    • Photographs that are not perfect. Faded, creased or slightly blurry pictures belong in the video if the moment matters.
    • Photos from many different sources. Phone pictures from the grandchildren sit beside older family pictures without a problem.
    • Which songs you choose. You pick the music that sounds like them. Please note that licensing any songs you select is your responsibility; if you would prefer music with the permit already handled, we offer a royalty-free library as a paid add-on.
    • Where you live. Everything is sent digitally, so distance costs nothing.

If you want your existing photos, video or audio repaired or improved before anything else happens, that is a different craft. Our sister studio Pixel 360 Media handles enhancement of media that already exists.

What is in a memorial video either way

Whatever the size of the project, the same core work happens. We edit from the files you send, plus footage we source where it helps. We set the pacing to the music you chose. You get a file that plays on the screens a funeral home already owns, and a private link relatives can watch from anywhere.

You can see finished examples on our sample videos page, and how the work is put together on our memorial and tribute videos page.

How to get an accurate number quickly

Tell us four things and the quote will be close to final.

    • The date. When is the service, or when do you need the file in hand?
    • Roughly how many photographs you have. An estimate is fine. Count folders if that is easier.
    • Whether there are video clips, and about how many minutes of them.
    • What else you want, such as a photo book or a second shorter version.

If you are not sure about length yet, our guide to how long a funeral slideshow should be will get you to a number in a few minutes. Length and photo count are closely tied, so settling one usually settles the other.

    Adding a photo book

A hardcover photo book is priced as an add-on to a tribute video, never on its own. The photographs you already sent are the ones our designers lay out, so the gathering work only happens once. Details are on our photo books and albums page.

When a funeral home is involved

There are two ways this goes. The family pays us directly, and the home simply passes along a link. Or the home includes the video in its own package and sets its own price to the family.

There is no fee to partner with us and nothing to sign. See how we work with funeral homes if that is the path you are considering.

A fair way to think about it

Price follows scope. Decide the length first, then the extras, and the number stops being a mystery. Families who tell us the date and the rough size of their collection usually have a firm answer the same day.

Located in Westchester, NY, we serve families nationwide through our fully remote platform.
